About 99 Nights In The Forest

Developer: Grandma's Favourite Games

Released: 2025

Surviving the Unknown

In 99 Nights In The Forest, you’re thrown into a place that feels wrong from the start, and your only real goal is to make it through 99 nights. It doesn’t take long before survival becomes more than just staying alive, especially when you realize four missing kids are out there somewhere, locked away in caves you’ll have to find yourself.

Fire Keeps You Alive

The campfire quickly becomes the center of everything you do. Once night falls, you don’t wander far unless you want trouble. The Deer starts showing up early, and it doesn’t behave like something you can fight head-on. Keeping the fire burning is what keeps you safe, so you’re always thinking about fuel, upgrades, and how far that light actually reaches.

Daily Routine Matters

Days are for preparation. You gather wood, break rocks, and try to build something that won’t fall apart the moment enemies show up. Food is easy to ignore at first, but that doesn’t last. Hunting, berries, or even farming become part of your routine, and cooking proper meals makes a noticeable difference.

Small Choices Change Everything

Unlocking classes with gems adds a bit of direction to how you play. Some make things easier, like carrying more or collecting faster, while others give you a stronger start. None of them feel overpowered, but they definitely shape your approach.

The Forest Fights Back

It’s not just one threat. The Deer is always there, but other enemies show up depending on where you are. Cultists can attack your base directly, which makes building smart more important than building big. A simple setup with one entrance and a few traps can work better than something complicated.

Progress Faster If You Can

If you want to move through the nights more quickly, rescuing the kids helps more than you’d expect. Building extra beds also speeds things up, so you’re not stuck grinding forever. There’s a trader who appears early on, and getting better tools from him can save a lot of time.

Just Make It to the Next Night

At some point, the game stops feeling like you’re trying to win and starts feeling like you’re just trying not to lose. Most nights come down to whether you prepared enough during the day. If you didn’t, the forest tends to remind you pretty quickly.
