Nobody really knows how they ended up in the field. One minute there’s silence, the next there’s nothing but tall corn, weak flashlight batteries, and something moving somewhere in the dark. Cornfield throws players into a maze that feels alive, where every path looks the same, and panic builds fast.
Walking carelessly is usually a bad idea. Crows burst out of the corn without warning, old traps make noise, and the creature hunting the maze always seems to hear more than it should. Sometimes the smartest move is to stop moving completely and listen. Heavy footsteps nearby usually mean trouble is already close.
Escaping the maze is not as simple as finding an exit gate. Players need to search abandoned corners of the field, collect resources, and figure out puzzles hidden throughout the area. Some locations are useful, others are dead ends, and a few feel like they were designed only to trap whoever enters them.
The game supports both solo play and online co-op for up to five people. Working together helps, especially when someone gets lost or cornered, but it can also create chaos when everyone starts running in different directions. Certain game modes even let one player control the killer, turning the match into a tense hunt between friends.
What makes Cornfield memorable is the atmosphere. The darkness feels heavy, visibility is terrible, and the maze never feels safe for long. Even after finding the last item, there’s still the problem of making it out alive.
